Name: Stephen & Tina Chaffe
Caravan name: Never Miss A Chance….. Life is a Journey
Where are you from?  Newcastle, NSW
Describe yourself in 5 words: Happily married, Living the Dream

What are you up to right now?
My wife, Tina and I are travelling around Australia. Right now, end of October, beginning of November, we’re currently at Tom Price (a mining town in WA), after spending a few days bush camping in Karijini National Park, WA.

What is your off-road vehicle including your set-up/living arrangements?
We’ve got a Landcruiser 100 Series, turbo diesel fitted with Drifta drawers and Waeco fridge, dual batteries etc. We’re towing a 19′ JB Dreamline Dirt Roader Caravan with extended drawbar, fitted out with 175 L compressor fridge, 2 x 120w solar panels and 2 x 120ah batteries.

Why did you decide to pack up and travel Australia?
This was our lifeline dream and our 30th wedding anniversary present to each other.

What was the hardest part of making the decision and ‘doing it’?
Taking 12 months leave without pay and renting the family home out.

A memorable moment you’ve had during your current travels?
Going by our name of the van “Never Miss A Chance”, we picked up a job, caretaking, Marble Bar Caravan Park for four weeks. It was interesting to experience living in a remote town with limited services. And doing something completely different.

The most bizarre experience you’ve encountered on your travels?
We took a day trip out to the Pentecost River on the Gibb River Road, and did the Crossing not once but three times so Tina could video me going across…and then the video still didn’t work.

Describe your ideal campsite.
Reasonably access, flat ground, not directly under Gum trees and able to have a campfire.

In your opinion, what are the top 3-5 needs that a Caravan Park should have?
1) Clean amenities with soap 2) Power & water 3) Defined large sites 4) Trees trimmed for higher caravans

What Australian destinations are on your bucket list?
1) The Nullarbor 2) South West, WA 3) Cape York, QLD, 4) Eyre Peninsula, SA. 5) Great Central Road

Name one product you wouldn’t leave home without?
Our Waeco Beer fridge!
