Ever been in an Outback Traffic Jam with a Caravan of Camels? This was one memorable experience during our travels through the Australian Desert! Camels are everywhere out there. It’s something quite special to be so remote but aware that there are thousands of camels roaming around and sometimes, silently walking very close to your campsite.
This photo was taken during our ‘Chugga Kurri’ mission, July 2016, driving through the Great Sandy Desert between the Aboriginal Communities, Kiwirrkurra and Balgo. We drove up behind these camels galloping along, and they weren’t frightened by our three cars following them, staying like this for ten minutes before heading off the track.
